I’m partial to a bit of ‘live’ trip blogging so for the next 10 days I’ll be attempting to bring you a day by day account of my trip to Punta Gorda, Florida.

Back to Day 4!

So I didn’t post a live update yesterday as I didn’t want to bore you with the day – we spent 8 hours shopping! We drove to Fort Myers taking in the local TJ Maxx’s and Ross Dress for Lesses before going to Edison Mall which I was quite happy had a Hot Topic – though I didn’t buy anything in the end!

We got to drive over some crazy bridges and I had a cheese steak sub for lunch! We also beat a crazy storm cloud out of Fort Myers. That’s about all I can find interesting in my images.

Total step count: 10,773
Number of lengths swam: 0 (boooo!)

But today we had a bit of a busier sight seeing day again. We got up this morning and meant to go to the beach but it looked a little cloudy so instead we headed to the Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda.

This was another place I’d visited last time I was at the coast in 2015.

At the Fishermen’s Village it’s super bright and colourful so I got some really nice pictures, and there’s loads of different little gift type shops. I actually wore the same dress I wore last time I visited!

Once we were finished, we drove back to Port Charlotte and FINALLY I got to have an IHOP. IHOP is my all time favourite and I even said during the meal I think pancakes may have overtaken ice cream sundaes as my favourite.

I had the country omelette which was ham, cheese and onion with 3 flavoured pancakes on the side – I wanted the seasonal blackberry cheesecake but they were out of blackberries so I had strawberries instead. Obviously it was super tasty.

We headed back to the villa via Walmart as usual, and I had a quick Skype with Liam before getting into the pool. I spent about two and a half hours hanging around by the pool and swimming slowly, making sure to do my 100 back and forths today! Once we were getting out of the pool we were visited my some tortoise friends who live behind the house.

The one kept knocking the other onto it’s back, and I tried to feed them a cucumber but I was too scared and ran away so my dad went out and chopped it up and gave it to them properly. They seemed to enjoy it, anyway!

It’s still quite early now so once again we’re eating chicken for dinner and I have some ready made Cinnabon’s to bake – I’ve seen these pre-made rolls on cooking videos so many times and never made them before so I’m really looking forward to it.

Current step count (as of 6:39pm): 3,686 (new lows!!)
Number of lengths swam: 100
