I’m partial to a bit of ‘live’ trip blogging so for the next 10 days I’ll be attempting to bring you a day by day account of my trip to Punta Gorda, Florida.

Back to Days 5 and 6!

Today we got up and headed straight to the beach. We tried a new beach out, Stump Pass Beach, and I really preferred it to Blind Pass. It had lots of trails and was a really long beach, you could walk for miles.

When we got there we got set up and my dad went on a walk down the beach. I read on my beach chair (I also started and finished the book of 13 Reasons Why today – unimpressive) and when he got back my mom and I went on a long walk down the beach.

It took a while, so once we got back to our spot we got in the sea. I was a bit worried because there’s no lifeguard on the beach and there was a purple flag for ‘dangerous marine life’, but I guess that was just a precaution they could have anywhere. I didn’t go too far in anyway.

By the time we finished in the sea we’d been at the beach for over two hours! It was much better than our previous trip to the beach. I decided rather than dry off on the beach I would have a shower and change, as there was a little outdoor shower under some trees. It felt much better to be changed and once I came out of the bathroom I made friends with a squirrel who kept posing for me.

From the beach we headed home with a stop at Taco Bell. I couldn’t really be bothered to swim yesterday so I mostly read and went and wallowed in the pool a bit later. I have swam every other day of the holiday so I don’t feel too bad haha.

After that we got ready and went to a local retail park. I looked round a few places and got some Levi’s jeans for $12. We went to Applebees for dinner and it was really tasty. On the way home, we stopped off at the ice cream shop so I could get a scoop of Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream!

Total step count: 8,654
Number of lengths swam: About 3 (oops!)
