On my recent trip to Florida, how could I pass up the chance to play Mermaid for a day? Crisp white sands, babbling waves and blue skies were the perfect backdrop for this outfit.
Top and skirt: Primark
Bag: Paperchase
Before I headed off to Florida last month, I met up with a friend in Meadowhall to do some holiday shopping. I had in fact been intending to buy items for my trip to Disneyland Paris in June, but of course when Florida called at the last minute my focus changed!
I see so many people wearing long skirts with graphical tees tucked in. I’ve never owned a long skirt – unless you count my 50s inspired pieces that I without fail wear with a petticoat. A casual skirt is something I’ve never owned. On scouring Primark I’d already picked up a couple of Mermaid tees when I spotted this skirt. It was the perfect subtle colour to match Ariel’s tail.
I headed to the changing room expecting a disaster – but I was thoroughly pleased with the look of the top and skirt together. I knew straight away I had to get some pictures of me on the beach in this Mermaid get-up. The top and skirt came in at the grand total of £10.50!
Next I went on the hunt for a bag to match my outfit. I’m a fan of all things crazy and weird so when I noticed this rainbow coloured lunch box for sale in Paperchase I was drawn to it straight away. Who cares if it’s supposed to be a childs lunch box – it’s plenty big enough to fit all of my essentials and more. I purchased it at 50% off, so it was only £7.50.
Fast forward to Florida and nearing the final day of my adventure, I got suited up and we headed to Boca Grande Lighthouse. It’s a really lovely place to visit – though the skies were looking a bit overcast on the day.
