OOTD Coatigan

This Coatigan was a hand-me-down and who turns down free clothes?! Turns out it’s the must have item for AW 2016. My mom brought it in a sale and when it arrived she decided it wasn’t for her.

So I inherited it! I have to admit there’s something distinctly Hagrid-y about it but it’s cosy and I love it. I think my favourite thing about it is the gold flecks of wool knitted into the pattern. All of the colours blend together so nicely, and these kindof shades also blend into the landscape when it comes to autumn.

White Stuff is describing the Coatigan as lighter than a coat but warmer than a cardigan. It supposedly bridges the gap between seasons but – let’s face it – do we even have that?! One minute the suns out and the next we’re plunged into darkness and cold here in the UK!

I’ve seen Coatigan’s here, there and everywhere this year, but this particular one is from Next. It’s green, white and gold in a tartan pattern. The colours in it seem to go with everything, which is perfect for me because I’m hopeless at putting outfits like this together – but in particular it really goes with brown and rose gold tones which gives me a reason to wear my Michael Kors watch anyway!

This particular Coatigan is also a size 16 – a little bigger than I would normally wear – but I actually think that adds to the appeal, these pieces look great worn oversize and it keeps me covered up and warm without having to worry about something clinging to me (I much prefer something floaty in the winter months!). So you’re a-ok to go up or down a size on this!

I paired it with my trusty black boots, ripped black jeans and plain black tee, with a Michael Kors bag and watch – as well as the cutest bracelets from Fossil and Pandora.
