Welcome to my special week of Cornish diary entries. This week I’m on holiday here, so I hope to give you a new entry every day. Today was our final day, and a visit to the Lost Garden of Heligan and one last trip to Mevagissey…
Friday 12th August 2016
Today we were up early intending on a final walk to Charlestown, but due to being too slow getting ready we had to skip it! After partially packing we headed to the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
I have been here a couple of times before, and was looking forward to having a walk around and taking some nice pictures. If you haven’t been before, you should go if you’re in the area – there’s some nice things to see.
We walked right the way around the outskirts of the grounds, taking in all the sights. We saw insect hotels and bee hives, as well as the gardens. Afterwards, my dad picked us up to head into Mevagissey.
There, we picked up all of the last bits and pieces we wanted, and had a nice sit on the harbour whilst we ate our first, and last, fish and chips of the holiday. It was really nice!
After that, we followed the signs to a local craft fair but there was nothing much of note in there! I stopped to get Liam some presents in a shop called the Lavender Pillow and then we headed back to the car at about 3.30pm. On the way home we stopped at Costa for a sit for half an hour, wiling away time before heading home.
Once back to the holiday home at just after 4pm, we packed up and then it was time to go! I got home at 10pm, so it didn’t take too long at all. So that’s the end of my week in Cornwall! Back to work on Monday, unfortunately, but I hope you enjoyed reading along.
