Throughout the month of August I will be taking part in a poetry challenge. Today’s challenge is to write a three line poem about lemons without using the following words: lemon, yellow, round, fruit, citrus, tart, juicy, peel, and sour.

There are some things I love to eat but this is not one
If it’s sat in the bowl I’d pass this oblong up at once
The stringy moist fibres inside render my appetite gone

Ew, lemons. How dare they masquerade as a fruit?!
