My favourite place on Earth is Walt Disney World – but with the warm weather for me, it just doesn’t have that Christmas spirit. Last year, I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris during the Christmas season.
It was only my second visit to the resort in Paris, and my first in about 9 years! I went with my friend, and we couldn’t have picked a better time to go. We went for the first week in December, so it was truly festive and bonus! We only had three weeks left to go at work once we came back until the Christmas break.
Christmas at Disneyland Paris was just so, so magical and perfect. The streets are lined with festive ornaments and decorations and a huge, towering tree adorns the top of Main St. Each evening, Minnie and Mickey come out and hold a tree lighting ceremony where they sing, dance, welcome special guests and of course, light the tree!
Every day, there is a Christmas parade with all of the classic Disney characters. Each float is silly and seasonal, with gingerbread Mickey’s and Pooh dressed as a postman. If you’re lucky and you stand in the right spot, it might even snow for you!
At night time, the castle glitters and twinkles as the park comes alive with Christmas lights. I was even lucky enough to meet Jack Skellington in his Santy Claws outfit, as well as the main couple themselves – Minnie and Mickey in their Christmas finery.
I loved my time at Disneyland Paris so much that I’m heading back this year with Liam! I absolutely can’t wait to take him because Christmas is by far his favourite time of year, he loves everything to do with the holiday and I just know he’s going to fall in love with Disneyland, too!
