Often I see blogger tags making their way around Twitter, but they never seem to make their way to me. I was over the moon when out of the blue last month I was nominated in the ‘Blogger Recognition Award’ tag.
I was nominated by Helena, over at So Helena. I would like to thank her for thinking of me for the Award, especially because, (and I hope she won’t mind me saying!) she is someone who I’ve not come across on Twitter or online before, so it’s lovely to know that my blog has reached someone who is potentially not on my radar yet!
Helena is a Londoner who, a bit like me, treats her blog as a confessional! She posts weekly inspirational posts, as well as covering topics such as travel, fashion, health and more.
So, without further ado…
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post to show your award.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 bloggers you want to give this award to.
- Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them, providing a link to the post you created.
How My Blog Started
My blog started in July 2016, but that wasn’t my first foray into the blogging world. I had wanted to start a blog for so long, and originally set one up to talk about baking and cupcakes – but I hadn’t fully grasped the world of social media, so it flopped and I didn’t stick to it.
In May 2016 I went to Florida and when I came back I was in a deep post-Florida depression. Liam and I vowed to better our lives and that’s when I started using fleurcharms.co.uk for real. I started off posting updates about my Florida holiday and filming Disney vlogs, but I soon branched out into more a lifestyle blog and the rest is history.
It’s the best thing I ever did. It’s changed my life and me so much and my skills and talents have grown and evolved massively.
Two Pieces of Advice
I have two linked pieces of advice. The first would be to stick at it, and not get too overwhelmed if you haven’t posted for a while. The second would be to understand that blogging doesn’t revolve around hitting a certain quota of posts each month. When I first started blogging regularly I truly believed no one would ever look at my blog unless I was posting an insane amount each month, and I felt disappointed when I didn’t reach this. But, blogging is for you, for fun, for writing about what you love and sometimes it just takes a little longer for that inspiration to hit you!
